The media has given a snazzy new name to some pretty old driving techniques, however they apply just as much today as when they were first thought of. Hypermiling is a set of rules and guidelines that will help you get the most fuel mileage out of your car. Take a look at the suggestions below and we'll make you a hypermiler!

Drive less. This may seem to simplistic, but if you carpool, ride your bike, or walk, you'll save 100% of your gass
Drive half way, then bike in. If you live in an area where you can't reach work, or biking isn't safe, try driving half way, then riding your bike the rest of the way.
Get the junk out of your trunk. Most people carry alot of extra items in their car that can often add up to 100+ pounds. Try cleaning out your car and lightening your load.
Let the gas saver drive. If there are several people in the car, let the most fuel efficient person drive. You may save money by keeping the guy with the lead foot from being behind the wheel.
Inflate your tires. Under (or over) inflated tires will often greatly reduce gas mileage. Make sure that your tires are inflated properly.
Take off that roof rack. If you have addons on your car that you don't use, like a roof rack then take them off. You'll save on the wind resistance.
